Equality in Life

Have you ever thought why so many people are poor and few are rich?
Why some are what you call gorgeous and others are just plain, average-looking?
Why there are superior white race and well, us…in the brown?
The famous and the nobody, the wizard  and the dumb, etc.etc?
All these are indications of one thing, the inequality in life.

If these thoughts entered your mind in one time or another,
you must have asked yourself why life is not fair.

Maybe, it’s true.  .

But on the other hand, maybe it’s not.
Going back to the question why there are rich and poor people?
What do we mean by rich and poor?
I may be financially poor but rich in wisdom and good judgment.
A person may be famous but lack the privacy that an ordinary person enjoys.
What about being gorgeous and just plain-looking?
Have you forgotten that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, literally speaking?
That is why we are created with minds and senses to make our own opinion.
What is common to me may be the most beautiful to others.
To each his own, so to speak.

If we’re going to look around us and focus on what we have
instead of feeling deprived because of the things that we don’t have,
we will realize that there are so many things to be thankful for.
There are many things that we take for granted
because they happen to be just there in front of us.
We see them but never really look at them

A person cannot have everything in life.
Blessings are like rain poured on everyone.
You may have some while others have their share.
So be thankful for these drops of blessings.
If we like them to stay with us,
we must be careful enough so they won’t drift away.

Footprints in the Sand

When I was a little child, I saw this story that immediately
became one of my favorites.
And it never fails to touch me everytime I read it.
Though I know, this has many versions already out in the net,
I thought of sharing just the same.

I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to me and the other to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life shot before me
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

There was only one set of footprints.
I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times in my life.
This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life,

there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You most, you leave me.

I love you and will never leave you. During your times of trial and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

In the beginning

When the world was created, there was nothing
but the basic things that humans need in order to survive.
Food to eat, air to breath, earth to live in.

As years went by, people created things
not only according to their needs, but according to their wants.
Houses were made, transportation and communication tools were invented,
inventions were improved.

Until technology this big became part of human existence.
From the simple games like sipa and piko,
to hi-tech handheld games like psp and ds,
from big desktops to laptops,
and now the ipad.

Sometimes I wonder, where are we going?
Why do we keep on changing?
When will people say that finally they have the life that they want?

Our generation depends so much on modernization and technology.
But who doesn't?
Life became easier (and people became lazier also).
As long we know how to use them responsibly and reasonably,
technology is here to stay.

A new beginning

New year means new beginning.
A beginning for a change?...
to  stand up after stumbling down on the ground?...
of reconciliation to someone?...

Different people have different reasons for a beginning.
But regardless of what your beginning is all about,
New Year is about hope and belief.
It is about this positive feeling in all of us.
That there's always this chance to make things better for us.

My favorite time of the year

It's amazing how you like and dislike something at the same time.
It's amazing how complex our world has become.

Because of technology,  our lives has impoved a lot.
But because of this same technology,
some of the good practices/old ways has been changed to a more modern, 'techie' way.

During Christmas Season, online shopping helps us avoid the long lines in Shopping Malls.
And with just a click of a button,  all you have to do is wait in the comfort of your own home for the gifts of your choice to be delivered.

Well, me? I prefer the wide variety of items in front of my eyes, the long lines of paying customers and the hassle of choosing and re-choosing the right kind of gift for the right kind of person.  I actually kind of enjoy the stress that goes with it.  What I mostly enjoy about shopping in the malls is the Christmas Melodies in my ear and the Christmas Decorations in my eyes that bring the Christmas Spirit in me.

Now that Christmas Season is about to end, I have to wait another 9 months before my favorite time of the year will start again.
